More than Enough with the Xbox 360 Core Console

For many gamers, $300 or even $350 is too expensive for their tastes. After all, that’s what the current price of the the Xbox 360 premium console is at, and $300 is what the original Xbox cost originally. Costing significantly more than its predecessor, the Xbox 360 does offer far more features and power than the original, but many people were not expecting it to cost $400 at launch. Regardless, there is a cheaper alternative for playing your favorite Xbox 360 games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Bioshock. With the Xbox 360 core console, you can sacrifice a few features for big savings.

No Hard Drive, No Problem

The Xbox core console lacks an internal hard drive, but it still has enough memory to save games, which is the most important feature of internal memory on game consoles anyway. Gone are the days of memory cards, and you never have to worry about losing or breaking all of your saved games. By giving up the 20 Gb of hard drive space found in the premium console model, you’ll be saving $50. Combine that with the fact that you can easily purchase an external hard drive separately, and you can easily see why it makes sense to go with Xbox 360 core consoles instead. If you think you’ll miss the 20 Gb of hard drive space, you can buy an 80 Gb external hard drive for the same price.

There are so many great titles available for the Xbox game console that you’re really missing out on some really fun experiences if you don’t own one. The Xbox core console plays all the same games and produces the same fantastic graphics, and you’ll be saving $50 over the more expensive version while you’re at it. One of the bigger downsides of the Xbox 360 core console is becoming apparent because the new 60 Gb Xbox 360 models have Netflix support, something you will miss out on. Still, if you are content to watch movies on your PC or have them shipped to you, then this won’t be a problem for you at all.

If you’ve looked forward to games like Grand Theft Auto 4 and Halo 3, then now is the time to go purchase an Xbox 360 core console. It has all of the necessary features to let you play the games you want, and those 720p and better graphics look great on HDTVs. If $250 is still too much for you, then you can always check out refurbished consoles for even greater savings.

Xbox 360 3 Red Lights Repair Guide Reviews from the Experts

Xbox 360 owners are lucky in that they have a wide selection of both high quality, realistic games and an overall superior gaming platform. There are always great new games being released by the xBox 360 game developers which is the main reason for the huge popularity of the x360 gaming platform.

However, as any serious XBox gamer will tell you, there are problems with the X360 unit. Since the release of the initial model of the X360, the gaming unit has been plagued by what has become commonly known as the “Xbox 360 3 Red Lights” problem (aka “the Red Ring of Death”). When the game you’re playing freezes and you see 3 flashing red lights on the front of your xbox console, you know you’ve been struck by this problem.

What this means is that there has been a hardware failure inside the xBox 360. The 3 flashing red lights on the front of the xbox console are actually a diagnostic message indicating that one of more internal components have failed, usually due to excessive heat build-up. You are going to have to let your XBox 360 cool down for an hour or two to know if the damage is permanent or not. If turning off your xbox for a couple hours to cool it down doesn’t get rid of the 3 flashing red lights, you’re either going to have the unit out for repair or go the fix-it-yourself route.

When you first open up your xbox, it may look complicated but if your follow the 3 red light repair instructions step-by-step, you should be fine. If you are the do-it-yourself type, you’ll find several step-by-step guides on repairing the 3 red lights problem available for download on the internet. The huge advantage of going the do it yourself route for the XBox 360 3 Red Lights problem is that you can be back up and playing your favorite game in about an hour or so.

Can you run a xbox game on something other than the xbox?

Hey i was wondering if any of you guys knew if you could run your regular xbox game on like the wii or your computer or something besides the xbox? Help if you can!

Nope, which kinda sucks. What they need is a console that can play everything from Sega and N64 to Xbox PC games, all in one with HD and free online. It would be uncontested.
