New Generation DVD Players

If someone walks up to you and tries to explain that DVD player is now a thing of the past, taken him seriously, in fact very seriously! With the advent of powerful optical disk formats like HD DVD (high definition DVD) and Blu-ray Disc the visual media is set to take a generation leap.

Their popularity is soaring with each passing day as they are proliferating into the conscious of the common man through other popular media. Like the Blu-ray Disc is supported by the immensely popular PS3 and even the hugely successful (but controversial) movie â??Da Vinci Codeâ?? was also released on a Blu-ray Disc! This makes it one of the well known formats amongst the younger generation. But then the HD DVD format isnâ??t lagging behind by too much.

Microsoftâ??s Xbox 360 HD DVD player is already making waves in the market for almost a year now and being the cheaper amongst the two; HD DVD Player is preferred by users. Also the portable DVD players are much in demand in the market and quite a few of them support these HD DVD formats that make them all the more attractive to the user.

But if we talk about quality Blu-ray Disc is better by far as it has got a higher numerical aperture, much higher storage capacity (be it single layer or dual) and the data/video transfer rates are substantially higher in the Blu-ray discs as compared to HD DVD player or a normal portable DVD Player.

With top brands like Samsung, Philips, Panasonic, Pioneer, Toshiba and others equipping their DVD players and portable DVD players to support any one of these two highly powerful and advanced disc formats a marketing war between the two brands was almost inevitable. But in the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) in January 2007 Warner Bros introduced Total HD discs, following the footsteps of global electronics giant LG. These highly advanced discs will be compatible with both, HD DVD players and Blu-ray DVD players.

Will this be the end of format war? Well it is a tough call to make, especially when a company like LG (who specialise in making home appliances rather than optical disc formats) decides to do something to douse the fire of format war, it is bound to get very intriguing.

how do i get my downloaded stuff back from xbox after receiving it from the repair center?

I just received my xbox from the repair center for the red rings. now i cant connect my wireless network and all my downloaded materials are gone, what do i do?

Recover gamertag. If it isn't on your hard drive re download it.(free)
BUT be advised downloaded content is connected to your gamertag and your console serial # (drm copyright crap), so now that you have a new console, the only way you will be able to access the downloaded content is when your gamertag is on LIVE. And any other profiles that you use will NOT be able to access the content, only the original one that downloaded it….Yes, it sucks!!!

How for can the Xbox 360 wireless adapters radius cover?

I want to buy one so I can finally hook up Xbox Live, but I want to know how far the wireless adapter can reach because my computer and 360 are pretty far apart. Thanks.

ok, you don't need a wireless adapter to hook up to live. the adapters are varying in quality, ie some will work better then others. you just have to be lucky. you should just use an ethernet cable.

PS3 Recent News - The Shocking Truth

Reliable PS3 recent news about the Sony release date is hard to track down at the moment. The reason is not a shortage of news, but because in the last 12 months, the release time frame has changed three times. Sony announced the PS3 release date would be on November 11th in Japan, and November 17th 2006 for North America prior to E3 2006.

Since then demand has skyrocketed, and eventhough PS3 is more expensive when compared to its two competiitors -next-gen consoles, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii, all major outlets presenting pre-orders in the US is sold out.

As a result of this considerable demand, ps3 recent news for the release date indicates it had to be moved back in PAL is the television standard regions. This includes the noteworhty Australasian, African markets,European, Russian, and Middle Eastern area , until March 2007.

The change has resulted from short supply of blue-laser diodes, which are the read-head Blu-ray drives key component, every PS3 unit will come standard with these . Sony has explained there will be no change in the number of units to be shipped. They had earlier forecast pre december 2007 sales of six million units.

Industry experts have taken issue with Sony for being unable to ensure a consistent product supply. They claim that this recent delay will give the competing Nintendo Wii which has a considerably lower retail price, a head start in gaining market share in areas beyond Japan and USA. Experts also claim this delay will give the Xbox 360, already well established in the market, an even longer start up advantage in the market.

If any proof of the ravenous demand consumers have for PS3 is needed, the prices being charged by profiteers offering pre-orders on eBay and the like reach as high as $1,500, while Sony ps3 recent news puts the official release date price at a mere US$500 for the 20GB version, and $600 for the 60GB version. Sony has allowed for 600,000 pre-order units for the American market, some of which will find their way from the online auctioneers to Europe and the other areas whose consumers have been told that they’ll simply have to wait.

Others have been equally quick to point out that similar delays and short supply marked the launch of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 approximately one year earlier, with far fewer than Sony’s 600,000 units being available on release day. Understandably, this has lead to speculation that the media buzz created by fans queuing for hours just to be among the first to own one of the new consoles actually plays into the hands of the manufacturers.

The wild consumer feeding frenzy resulting from relatively low product supply and high demand can, according to ps3 recent news, be expected to boost the popularity, with the coming of the release date in November. Industry experts note with interest Nintendo’s Wii generated a similar effect when this year’s E3 Expo visitors were showed a willingness to queue for up to eight hours for the privelege of spending just a few minutes on one of the prototype consoles.

Eventhough the latest ps3 recent news regarding the Sony release date is disappointing for Europe enthusiasts and those in the other smaller markets, the product launch will still be among the most exciting and eagerly awaited in console gaming history. Pre-order demand is set to command some of the highest prices ever recorded for any console system at release date.

This is also in spite of savage competition from the other industry players. With careful planning Sony has organized for its marketing machine to be operating at peak performance. This will be a launch to end all launches. Make sure you are a part of the event of the decade.
